Welcome to the land of giants. Famous for hosting Africa’s densest concentration of elephants, the Chobe River serves as a life-giving artery for thundering herds of buffalo and diverse wildlife. On your luxury Chobe safari world-class hospitality meets the untamed beauty of the verdant riverbanks.
These are among the largest herds of elephant in the world. In fact there estimated to be around 120,000 elephants in the Chobe park. It’s also the most accessible park in Botswana as it’s possible to easily make the trip overland from the Livingstone Victoria Falls area. As the climate dries, the game concentrates near the river area which is flat open terrain making for excellent viewing.
Trips can be taken on the river itself as well as through the national park. As this is a large national park, there is quite a lot of traffic here, so choosing the correct location is important in order to minimise how many other tourists you will see on your game drives.

When to visit Chobe and Savuti
The best time to visit Chobe and Savuti for peak wildlife viewing is during the dry winter season from May to October. This is when the animals congregate at water sources, offering excellent sightings of elephants, buffalo and predators. For lush green scenery, baby animals and great birding, visit during the wet summer season from November to April.
