Your Botswana green season safari will take place between November and March. Marvel at large herds of elephants and lazing hippos in the Linyanti and Okavango Delta, framed by contrasting dark stormy skies and bright green landscapes. Thousands of migratory birds flock to Botswana during the rains, so your birdwatching experiences will be particularly rewarding.
From November to May, East Africa’s green season transforms the parched savannah into a verdant landscape. During this time you can track the Great Migration from a luxury mobile camp in the southern Serengeti. Specifically, from January to March, when the wildebeest calve and opportunistic big cats prowl the plains.
Traverse the dense treetops of Costa Rica’s Cloud Forests on canopy walkways from May to November, the annual green season. You’ll be able to spot masses of birds flashing across emerald leaves in an explosion of colour. This is also the season to watch delicate sea turtles make their way across the sands in Tortuguero National Park.
Borneo’s green season beckons from November to March when rising water levels make for thrilling river safaris. Waterfalls are at their most dramatic and the jungle is active. This is a great time to try and spot pygmy elephants and orangutans.
