Private safaris off the beaten track

Landlocked Zambia is a country of exceptional safaris, thrilling activities and wild beauty.

The Southern African nation offers a combination of well-preserved and pristine wildernesses, including Lower Zambezi National Park, as well as nineteen national parks. Norman Carr’s signature ‘walking safaris’, made famous in South Luangwa National Park, are complemented by unique reserves excelling in conservation, such as the successful rhino breeding programme in North Luangwa.

That’s all before you’ve witnessed the magnificence of the Victoria Falls, thrilling wildlife tracking and spectacular bird watching. Or cruising lazily down the Zambezi River looking out for huffing hippos or the flick of a crocodile tail.

Our team’s expertise allows them to bring you the best of Zambia and the most exclusive luxury safari experiences, all the while keeping you in high comfort even in the remotest of wildernesses. We’ll create a trip that is entirely tailor-made to you and your interests, helping you choose the perfect combination of destinations, superior accommodation and remarkable activities, with local guides that make your trip an extraordinary Zambian adventure.

Ask our experts

What activities can I expect on a luxury Zambia safari?

On a luxury Zambia safari, as well as traditional game drives, you can expect activities such as walking safaris, which originated here and involve heading out on foot with expert trackers to spot smaller wildlife and prints on the ground. You can also enjoy witnessing wildlife from photographic hides to get the perfect shot, and sleep outs under the stars for phenomenal stargazing.

What wildlife could I see in Zambia?

In addition to the Big Five, some of the wildlife you could see in Zambia includes endangered African wild dogs, which have a strong population in Zambia, particularly in South Luangwa National Park. The park is also one of the best places for leopard viewing. You might also see endemic Thornicroft’s giraffes, which are only found in the Luangwa Valley.

What can I expect from Zambia safari flights?

Zambia safari flights usually take place on small bush planes. Flight times are quick, generally between 30 and 70 minutes. Because of the small size of the plane, luggage is usually restricted in weight to 15kg, in soft-sided bags only. Due to the rustic nature of the airports, airstrips are usually unpaved and landing may not be as smooth as you are used to.

Is WiFi available at safari lodges in Zambia?

Yes, WiFi is usually available at luxury safari lodges in Zambia, however due to the remote nature of the lodges, it may only be available in the main areas, and may be slow or weak. Some particularly remote lodges may have no WiFi at all. If WiFi is a requirement for your trip, your travel designer can plan your journey around lodges that offer internet access.
