Livingstone is the town found on the Zambian side of the water, and luxury hotels either in the town or somewhere alongside the Zambezi upstream are a great base from which to fully explore this magnificent spectacle.

Atmospheric Chinzombo
You’ll find Chinzombo Lodge set on a secluded bend in the Luangwa river. This is modern camping at its most luxurious. After a busy few days of exploring South Luangwa on foot, you’ll have three nights here to unwind and relax, surrounded by pristine wilderness. Surrounded by 60 acres of private land, the signature walking safaris here are something special.

Creating jewellery from snare traps

Take a tour of the Mulberry Mongoose workshop and learn about their Beauty from Brutality initiative. The team turns lethal poachers’ traps into beautiful jewellery. During this hands-on tour you can try coiling snare wire beads and craft your own piece to take home with you.
With an all-female management team and a workforce that is 80% women, they bring meaningful jobs to a community where opportunities are scarce. After removing over 45,000 dangerous poacher snares from South Luangwa and Kafue, the team has raised over $173,000 for wildlife protection.
