Luxury Livingstone and Victoria Falls Tours made for you
The 'smoke that thunders' and the mighty Zambezi River
River safaris, thundering falls and water activities
The mighty Victoria Falls rank as one of the most spectacular sites in all of Africa. As the mighty Zambezi River crashes over sheer cliffs onto the rocks below it sprays a cloud of water high into the air that has earned it the local name of Mosi-oa-Tunya (literally translated as ‘the smoke that thunders’). Victoria Falls is classified as the largest waterfall in the world, based on its combined width and height. The falls are at their fullest during the river’s flood season from February to May, while the dry season is from September to January.
Livingstone is the town found on the Zambian side of the water, and luxury hotels either in the town or somewhere alongside the Zambezi upstream are a great base from which to fully explore this magnificent spectacle. Whether on privately guided tours of the falls, spotting hippos on river based safaris, soaring over the spray on scenic helicopter flights, white water rafting in Batoka Gorge or visiting the famous Livingstone Island, we’ll make sure that you make the very most of your stay here.
The city is becoming increasingly popular with adventure sports enthusiasts as it is with nature-lovers looking for memorable safari experiences. And the city itself offers wonderful examples of colonial architecture lining the main streets, as well as more modern African buildings. There are many of the country’s over 750 species of birds to look out for around the town and the falls.

A word from one of our experts
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, getting to see the Victoria Falls up close is an impressive and breathtaking experience. What's more, the area around the falls offers incredible wildlife viewing as well as a good glimpse into the cultural heritage of both Zambia and neighbouring Zimbabwe.

When to visit
The falls can be enjoyed all year round, though the levels of the waters can vary quite a lot. Both low and high water have their own advantages (though the high water is more spectacular, the spray can make the falls harder to see).
