In Greenland you will experience exclusivity like never before, for this is the world’s largest island, inhabited by only 55,000 people. Located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, this remote land is a country of magnificent scenery, extraordinary light and mighty nature.
The entire center of the country is covered by ice giving rise to vast swaths of beautiful, unrestricted wilderness. By contrast, the fringes to the north are characterised by dry Arctic desert while the south is green and filled with sheep farms. You’ll find rivers of slow moving ice, giant glaciers such as the Eqi Glacier and coasts dotted with icebergs of all shapes and sizes, particularly in Disko Bay, just off the shore of Ilulisaat, or glistening further south in the Nuup Kangerlua Fjord. This wild land is home reindeer, musk ox, arctic fox, giant walrus and whale.
The Northern Lights and midnight sun alternatively light up the snow in glowing green and pastel shades and give the land a dreamlike atmosphere. It’s a country for adventurers eager to experience the unique Inuit culture, undertake husky sled expeditions to glaciers, climb and hike with dramatic views, and venture on epic fishing, kayaking and mountain biking trips.
