When to visit Switzerland
The best time to visit Switzerland depends on your interests, but April to October is great for pleasant weather and activities like hiking and sightseeing. For fewer crowds, visit in the shoulder seasons of spring (April–May) or autumn (September–October). Summer (June-August) is the warmest and best for lake activities but has the largest crowds. Winter (December-March) is the prime time for winter hikes and snowshoeing.
