The most famous site is the architectural wonder of Petra. Dating back to around 300 BC, it’s both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Wonders of the World. The series of tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone cliffs is simply majestic as it comes into view as you pass through the Al Siq canyon.

Elsewhere, spend time drinking in the stark beauty of Wadi Rum, enjoy the diverse culture of Amman, head to the Dead Sea for activities in and on the water, and get a taste of beach life in Aqaba.

The final ingredient that brings an unforgettable Jordan experience together is discovering the country’s exquisite cuisine. From mansaf, a traditional dish of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice, to syrupy sweet and crispy knafeh for dessert, dining in Jordan might just be the highlight of your trip.
