Your base in Tasmania

The Museum of Old and New Art, founded by David Walsh, is one of Tasmania’s biggest attractions. MONA Pavilions consists of eight pavilions, perched on the banks of the River Derwent, each named after an Australian architect or artist.

Sharp geometric shapes and stylish furniture fill the interiors of these unique architectural marvels, each featuring artwork from the MONA collection. Each pavilion features a kitchen, wine bar, and a balcony from which guests can look out over the river.

The Source restaurant, which takes its name from the John Olsen painting that hangs from the ceiling of the foyer, is all about sourcing local produce and creating a menu of fresh, uncomplicated dishes. The Cellar Door, the hotel’s own microbrewery, has an extensive list of Moorilla wine and Moo Brew beer, while the Void Bar is the place to go for an expertly mixed cocktail accompanied by live music.

Guests can enjoy a swim in the heated infinity pool or a session in the sauna and of course, explore the wonderful MONA Museum, whose galleries are filled with antiquities as well as modern and contemporary artworks.
