Tenuta di Artimino is a Tuscan countryside hotel restored from its early life as the historic hunting estate of the Medicis – the powerful Florentine dynasty that ruled much of Tuscany from the 15th to the 18th centuries. At its centre stands Villa Medicea La Ferdinanda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose frescoed interiors and hilltop position speak to centuries of noble life. Around it, vineyards and olive groves unfold across the estate, creating a sense of space and continuity that feels deeply rooted in Italy’s landscape.

Accommodation is spread across three distinct settings inspired by the Italian concept of albergo diffuso, where rooms are spread across multiple historic buildings within a village or rural estate. You may stay in the Paggeria Medicea, a former service building converted into a hotel, in Borgo lodges and suites set within the medieval village of Artimino, or in Le Fagianaie country lodges surrounded by olive trees. Each option offers a slightly different relationship with the land, village life or estate grounds.

Food and wine are central to the experience. Estate-produced wines are showcased through guided tastings, while Biagio Pignatta presents refined Tuscan cuisine inspired by local traditions and a zero-kilometre philosophy with ingredients grown on-site. La Cantina del Redi offers a historic setting within medieval walls. Between meals, you can explore walking and cycling routes, swim in the outdoor pool or unwind in the spa and wellness centre.
