Luxury Andalusia Tours made for you
Explore Andalusia on a journey designed just for you
The surprising, infatuating south
Andalusia embodies much of what we today view as being quintessentially Spanish and as the southernmost province in Spain, its interior is the hottest area of Europe. But delve deeper, and you’ll find that there’s much more to this province than meets the eye. Discover Andalusia, a land of surprises.
Andalusia is sunbaked indeed, and at Almería you can visit Europe’s only true desert, the Tabernas. But it also possesses the most-varied terrain in all of Spain and boasts both a Mediterranean and an Atlantic coastline. In Cádiz, you’ll find the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park which experiences Spain’s greatest rainfall. You can ski at the Sierra Nevada National Park, the southernmost ski destination in Europe. And while the Andalusian steppes may be arid, the Guadalquivir River basin at the province’s heart is a richly fertile agricultural plain full of plantations of subtropical fruit.
The well-known regional capitals of Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Huelva, Granada, Jaén, Malaga and Seville combine to make Andalusia the most populated province in Spain with a strong and rich cultural identity that’s been somewhat hijacked by the rest of the country. Tapas and flamenco, phenomenons that we might think of as typically Spanish, are in fact Andalusian in origin. In these cities you’ll find shining examples of Andalusia’s rich Moorish ancestry, particularly in the fabulous architecture of Seville’s Alcazar Castle, Córdoba’s Mosque and Granada’s Alhambra Palace. Discover ancient Cádiz’s unique location surrounded by the sea on a narrow slice of land, Córdoba’s mesmerising arches, Granada’s intriguing gypsy traditions and high-spirited Seville with its legendary six-day long Spring Fair.
