Itinerary in detail
Every trip is shaped around you. Below is a sample route to start from; we change any part of it to suit you.
Days 1-5
Under the midnight sun in Swedish Lapland
Summertime in Swedish Lapland means basking in the midnight sun and exploring mountain trails on foot and by mountain bike. At any time of year, the region is a magical place filled with natural wonder, folklore and a rich cultural heritage – Swedish Lapland has long been home to the nomadic Sámi people and on this trip you will meet Lars Eriksson and his family in the forests of Flakaberg to learn about Sámi life and culture. You will meet their reindeer and enjoy a traditional lunch served in a timber cottage on their homestead.

Day 6
Norway’s city gateway to the fjords
A city filled with history and tradition, Bergen enjoys a small-town charm and is easily explored on foot. Stroll around the fairy-tale-like old cobbled streets and small wooden houses and discover the Hanseatic wharf, Bryggen, with its unique architecture that saw this area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
On your explorations be sure to stop at the city’s fish market for a little bit of local hustle and bustle in a picturesque setting before taking a trip up the funicular to Mount Floyen for remarkable views back across Bergen.

Vikafjell Mountain Plateau Hike

The scenic Vikafjell Mountain Plateau is a stunning land of snowy peaks, lakes and rivers and high alpine meadows. The plateau covers an area of 1000 km3 and approximately 1/3 is under protection as a Landscape Preservation Area. The suggested 3-5mile hike (flexible length) starts at 1000m.a.s.l and has few ascends and descends. En route you will stop frequently to take photos, search for the large herds of wild reindeer that dwell in the region and to learn more about the local nature and culture. There will also be time to enjoy a packed lunch.
Days 7-8
The serenity and beauty of the Norwegian fjords
Norway is bigger than most people realise, and its incredible coastline seems to go on forever. The Norwegian fjords are an epic landscape of deep valleys, gushing waterfalls, craggy mountain peaks and mirror-like waters, and a great way to explore is on a fjord cruise.
