Six Senses Paro
A stone and wood masterpiece in the clouds
Calm and serene in the scenic Paro Valley
In the scenic Paro valley, a place of small villages and terraced fields, sits the Six Senses Paro. The new building sits on the site of an abandoned 16th century stone fortress that inspired the name of the lodge; “Stone Ruins”. The property has been designed to mimic the old style of the fortress and built using locally-cut stone. Inside the decor is calm and serene with simple, contemporary wooden furniture finished with fabrics in rich earthy tones. The hotel offers 16 spacious suites and a small collection of villas, all with beautiful valley views and each featuring a roaring log burner for those chilly evenings. The ensuite bathrooms, in keeping with the rooms themselves, are spacious and offer an understated luxury with all the comforts and amenities you’d expect. There’s indoor and outdoor dining at the hotel and two bar options – each has spectacular views out to the natural world. These social areas also feature log fires for a cosy and comforting atmosphere. The outdoor dining area is large, with a floor of huge stone flagstones. Experience complete relaxation in the hotel’s Six Senses Spa, a haven of warmth and tranquillity. Revel in the outdoor sauna and cool dip, the yoga room and meditation and relaxation areas. There’s also a beautiful indoor swimming pool, housed within a stone space, one wall made of glass and with a curved wooden ceiling, an architecturally stunning room.
