Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge
Peaceful sanctuary above the Pokhara Valley
A tranquil immersion in the Himalayan Mountains
High above the Pokhara Valley, your days at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge start with tea infused with herbs plucked from onsite gardens as the sun rises behind the Himalayas, turning jagged peaks gold with the warm glow of daylight. From its elevated perch, you’ll wake to the mesmerising sight of Nepal’s mountains; the Annapurna Massif looms overhead.
Before breakfast, you can centre yourself with private yoga sessions. Then, indulge in Nepalese specialities at the main lodge’s panoramic terrace. Savour Gurkha-style scrambled eggs in the morning and hearty thalis at dinnertime. The gastronomy here is farm-to-table: fresh ingredients come from its gardens or nearby villages.
In between, experienced guides accompany you on bird walks and village visits. Trails wind past farmland and through forests. Longer hikes reward you with dramatic vistas of the Pokhara Valley. Alongside more than 350 bird species in the area, over 260 types of butterflies flutter across the lodge’s terraced gardens.
You can end afternoons with an Ayurvedic massage or in the secluded infinity pool overlooking the summit of Machapuchare. Meanwhile, thrillseekers can go on paragliding and micro-light flights.
The rooms at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge are crafted from hand-cut stone and arranged to resemble a Nepali village. Inside, handwoven Tibetan rugs enliven slate and parquet floors while handmade wood furnishings and artwork reflect the country’s heritage. Floor-to-ceiling doors bring in the inspiring Himalayan landscape. But, it’s their verandas that offer the best seat: this is where you’ll be able to soak up the scenery of the seemingly endless horizon of snow-white crags in complete privacy.
The impact of your stay:
