Table Rock Jungle Lodge

Tucked away in the Belizean jungle, Table Rock Jungle Lodge is small and intimate with only six cabanas on a 105-acre property by the Macal River.

The location and activities are the biggest selling points of Table Rock Jungle Lodge. For outdoor and nature enthusiasts, the rainforest setting is excellent: you can swim off the pebbled beach; tube down the slow rapids; hike along trails; canoe down the river; or head off on a bike ride.

The thatched-roof cabanas are comfortable and spacious, but quite rustic, with no electrical outlets (the lodge produces its own electricity) or air-conditioning. Guests can still charge their phones and cameras, and there’s Wi-Fi too, but part of Table Rock’s charm is in its removal from the everyday and its eco credentials, so don’t expect to be able to blow-dry your hair.

Because of the nature of the location, the lodge asks guests to order their meals in advance, but the working farm means that the food is as fresh as it gets. They grow mangoes, avocados, limes, coconuts and lots of vegetables and herbs. There are also two resident donkeys named Napoleon and Josephine.
