A luxury lodge in the heart of the Brazilian biome

Set within a private reserve in Brazil’s vast Cerrado savannah, Pousada Trijunção strives to support the region’s rich biodiversity. The lodge draws its architecture and palette from the biome, which is Brazil’s second-largest (after the Amazon Rainforest). Each of the seven suites has been decorated in shades of stone and honey, with flooring crafted from demolition wood. Bold local artworks and furniture made with reclaimed materials further add to the strong sense of place.

Regionally focused dishes like fried cassava and bobó de camarão (prawns in a fragrant coconut milk broth) are served in the wood-accented dining room that opens out onto a large terrace. Special trail picnics and barbecues, with meats roasted over a pit, can also be arranged.

Experiences focus on connecting guests to the wilderness, home to more than 250 species of mammals. Expertly guided day and night safaris offer chances to spot maned wolves and dwarf caimans. Ride through the reserve on fat bikes adapted to the uneven terrain, stopping to observe some of the biome’s 13,000-plus plant species.
