Explora Patagonia National Park

A remote lodge in Patagonia’s wild Chacabuco Valley

  • Hotel

Into the wild heart of Patagonia National Park

Set deep in Chile’s Chacabuco Valley, Explora Patagonia National Park is a remote 13-room lodge in one of Chilean Patagonia’s most important conservation areas. Once part of a vast livestock ranch, the valley is now protected as part of Patagonia National Park.

The lodge has been designed using locally sourced stone, reclaimed wood and recycled copper roofs. Inside, the style is simple, warm and elegant with views towards Mount Tamango and Mount Tamanguito.

There are more than 30 guided adventures available, led by expertly trained bilingual guides and tailored to your interests and fitness level. You might hike to hidden mountain lagoons, e-bike through the park and kayak on clear rivers.

The park is home to guanacos, condors, armadillos, foxes, flamingos and rare species such as the endangered huemul deer and ñandú. During guided walks, keep your eyes open for wildlife across the grasslands. You may even spot pumas moving quietly through the park, though sightings are never guaranteed.

The lodge offers Chilean wines and Patagonian cooking inspired by the region’s gaucho culture. Expect fresh meals made with locally sourced ingredients. We especially recommend ending the day in one of the outdoor hot tubs, with the mountains all around you.
