Days 1-3

The culinary capital of South America

Start your journey with an exploration of Peru’s coastal capital, and the gastronomic centre of South America. Gazing out onto the Pacific Ocean, Lima’s urban metropolis is a fascinating mix of cultures and atmospheres. Dive into Barranco’s vibrant street art or wander the parks and gardens in Miraflores, punctuated by mouth-watering meals and hands-on food tours.

A private culinary journey through Lima

Begin your private culinary tour of Lima early at Villa María fish market. You’ll try a beloved local breakfast of freshly prepared ceviche made with the morning’s catch. Continue south to Pachacamac for a guided visit of its archaeological site and museum. And then, meet a culinary expert at an organic orchard; take a garden walk, taste fresh herbs and enjoy a nourishing lunch prepared with produce grown on the property.

Days 4-6

Three days in the Sacred Valley

Just an hour or so northwest of Cusco, the Sacred Valley is one of the most historically important parts of Peru. The Incas believed the river that winds its way through was aligned with the cosmos, and thus it became one of the bases of Incan civilisation. Some of the most important and impressive Incan ruins can be found here, and you’ll spend the next few days unlocking their secrets on private guided tours and visits.

Ollantaytambo and picnic

Visit the Inca fortress town of Ollantaytambo. Built just as the Spaniards arrived, this site is one of the most important examples of how the Incas inhabited and functioned in their cities, making it a fascinating place to explore. The fortress at the top of the hill is particularly interesting to learn about the techniques the Incas used in its construction. Finish your visit with a delicious picnic lunch prepared by your guide.

Day 7

Marvel at Machu Picchu

An essential stop on any Peru tour, the Lost City of Machu Picchu is like stepping into another world. The awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site is perched on a mountain ridge some 2,400m above sea level and commands jaw-dropping views over the surrounding landscapes. You’ll have time to explore the ruins in-depth, both with a private guide and at your leisure, taking the time to marvel at every aspect of this archeological marvel.
