Days 1-2
Overnight in San Jose
Enjoy your evening in the metropolitan capital city of San Jose, relaxing at your hotel before or after your flight. Explore the vibrant colonial corners of the city, the busy central market permeated with the smells of great food and ground coffee, its downtown cafes, the National Theatre, Gold Museum, Lankester Botanical Gardens and of course its famous night life. You’ll have our list of recommendations as well as private guides on hand to enjoy the best of this lively city.

Days 3-5
Remote rainforest at Pacuare Reserve
Spend three nights at Pacuare Lodge deep in the Costa Rican jungle’s Pacuare Reserve. During your stay here you will be able to experience a range of different activities to experience the magical, natural environment of the Pacuare Reserve.

Birdwatching in the Pacuare Reserve
An expert naturalist guide will lead you from the Pacuare Lodge along a series of sites from which you can observe buzzing hummingbirds, dancing butterflies and exquisite tropical flowers. The area around the lodge is home to an extraordinary number of exotic bird species that include the Sun Bittern, Red-throated Ant-Tanager, Black-cheeked Woodpecker and a variety of colourful toucans.
Canyoning and canopy adventures
Head off on a private canyoning and canopy tour today. Rappel down towering trees and slide along cables through the jungle for a true adrenaline rush. The canyoning tour then combines hiking, climbing and rappelling. Then continue hiking through the creek and the forest back to the lodge.
Days 6-8
Luxury in Arenal Volcano National Park
Enjoy three days in the beautiful and diverse Arenal region, which encompasses over 120 square kilometres (46 square miles) on the southern shores of Lake Arenal with the conical peak of the volcano at its heart. Arenal holds an abundance of incredible experiences for all to enjoy, from adrenalin adventure activities to more relaxed, leisurely walks and days at hot springs. Due to the volcanic activity here there’s many natural and mineral-rich geothermal waters to soak in, be sure to stop by Tabacon’s hot springs with dedicated family area.

Arenal Sky Tram
Take a ride on a serene Sky Tram gondola as it soars smoothly through the rainforest, offering wonderful views of the Arenal volcano and the lake. Accompanied by a bilingual guide, the ride takes around 40 minutes with the possibility of short stops to take photographs or to spot a tropical birds.
Arenal's hanging bridges excursion
Embark on a private tour through the Arenal Reserve’s suspension bridges and primary rainforest. This tour is both a fun and an educational way to get to know more about the natural environment. The trails are designed for all levels, covering around 3 kilometers of easy walking, past a great diversity of flora and fauna.
Arenal Volcano Hike
The hike begins at a trail close to the volcano, taking you through the forest and over the 1968 lava flows. Notice the forest’s activity and unique flora, listening to your guide as they explain the reserve’s ecosystems, wildlife and the prominent effect of the volcano’s activity on the area.
Days 9-11
Relax on the golden Guanacaste Coast
Wide stretches of golden solitary beaches, wildlife reserves jostling with exotic nature, a dry consistent climate, great surfing spots, and an ultra-easy-going atmosphere are the collective traits of Costa Rica‘s northern Pacific coastline. Pass the time on the Guanacaste Coast relaxing on its sun-drenched beaches, or indulge in surf lessons, snorkelling, or other adventure activities.
