Kicheche Laikipia

Kicheche Laikipia is a classic safari camp, small and luxurious, nestled in the shadow of Mount Kenya in the 90,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a beautifully remote home to the country’s largest population of black rhino, considerable numbers of elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains game. There are also a number of rare northern species like Grevys Zebra, Jacksons Hartebeest and Beisa Oryx.

The camp itself has just six tented suites, with a verandah from which you can occasionally spot game at the dam, a magnet for wildlife during the dry season. A well-furnished lounge and dining tent have two roaring fires for the cooler evenings. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are often taken al-fresco and pre-dinner drinks and star gazing are a must under the great African sky.

Outstanding safari can be enjoyed on both day and night game drives, and the reserve can be explored of a range of other activities including guided walks, mountain biking and canoeing. You may also visit the Wildlife Educatonal centre, Chimpanzee sanctuary and northern white rhino enclosure.
