Each destination in Tanzania has its own emblematic species and outdoor activities: think walking safaris, river cruises, chimpanzee trekking and flamingo spotting. Some of the most romantic activities for couples include sunrise hot air balloon trips and stargazing on evening safaris.

Where to go in Tanzania

When to visit Tanzania for honeymoon safaris

The best months for a honeymoon safari in Tanzania are June through October, when dry weather conditions make animals easier to spot. The Great Migration river crossings attract lots of visitors to the Serengeti from July to September; if you want to see this spectacle, we can suggest quieter areas away from the crowds. During the green season from November to May you can see gorgeous green scenery and witness the calving season in the Serengeti, though April and May are usually too rainy for safaris.
