Itinerary in detail
Every trip is shaped around you. Below is a sample route to start from; we change any part of it to suit you.
Days 1-5
Sights and sounds of Marrakesh
With its rich atmosphere, fascinating history and Berber culture, the city of Marrakesh encapsulates what draws people from around the world to Morocco. Near one thousand-year-old red walls surround the historic medina, with monumental gates leading through to a warren of winding alleys. A highlight of your stay here is a Moroccan cooking workshop in a professionally equipped kitchen. Learn important local secrets from a dada (Moroccan cook) to get the traditional taste of tagine right. Then enjoy your delicious meal out on the patio.

Where you could stay
Dining with purpose in Marrakesh

Enjoy a meaningful lunch experience at Amal Association in Marrakesh, a remarkable social enterprise which empowers women through culinary arts training and provides a safe space for them to rebuild their lives.
The association helps resilient women who have faced a variety of challenges to rewrite their narratives and step into their power. Through its restaurant-school model, Amal provides trainees with real-world experience in the industry while also generating income which is reinvested into its training programmes. Since 2012, over 300 women have enrolled in the comprehensive four to six-month Moroccan and international cuisine and life skills programme, with a majority of them going on to full-time employment on completion.
Day 6
Oasis town
Your driver and local guide will take you on a unique ride across the ever-changing landscapes of the Atlas Mountains and the majestic Tizi’n’Tchika pass to the oasis town of Skoura where you can discover some of the local traditions of the Berber people. Learn about the palm grove’s ecosystem and visit the outstanding Kasbah Amridil. Your suite is the perfect place to relax after the journey.

Where you could stay
Ksar Aït ben Haddou

Follow your guide and visit the world-renowned Ksar Aït ben Haddou, a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco and film set for many Hollywood movies from Lawrence of Arabia to Gladiator, as well as for the star TV series Game of Thrones more recently.
Day 7
Into the desert
On your way into the desert you will pass by the Valley of Tazenakht and Foum Zguid and then stop for a delicious picnic lunch. Your journey continues through the dunes, oasis towns becoming less frequent, until you reach your camp for the night and settle down to a candlelit dinner beside a campfire. It’s the perfect space for star gazing and drinking in the tranquility only a desert can offer.

Where you could stay
Day 8
Overnight in Skoura
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast after the sun rises and then prepare for the journey back to Skoura. You may have the opportunity to stop at several small villages on the way, meeting local artisans to craft the most beautiful Berber carpets. Once you’re settled into your room, you can either spend the rest of the day exploring Skoura or sign up for an outdoor activity.

Where you could stay
Days 9-10
Into the mountains
Roads follow green valleys dotted with mud-built Berber villages, up through forest and over winding passes then down to wadis and old caravan trading posts on the edge of the Sahara. It is a haven for hikers of all levels from spring through to autumn. The Atlas Mountains are a rugged chain that span North Africa from the Atlantic coast through Algeria and Tunisia, an imposing barrier between the fertile Mediterranean coast from the vast Sahara Desert.

Where you could stay
Mountain trekking

Head out on a medium trek in the Atlas Mountains, through fields of olives, plums and vegetable gardens. Fabulous walks can be tailor-made to perfectly suit your needs while you’re here. Walk up through orchards to the village of Armed where a traditional Berber lunch will be served on a roof-terrace, with stunning views of Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.
