Luxury Java Tours made for you
Immerse yourself in the wonders of Java with a private journey designed just for you
Dramatic volcanic terrain and home to Borobudur Temple
Home to over half of Indonesia‘s population as well as its sprawling capital, Jakarta, Java is a hugely diverse and fascinating place. Head away from the cities and you’ll discover a landscape of smouldering volcanoes, lush rice paddies and ethereal temples.
Java is Indonesia‘s fifth largest island and stretches 600 miles from east to west, with a string of volcanoes running along its central belt. We can help you explore the quieter, pristine parts of Java on private tours that help you fully appreciate the beauty of the island. Trek the Menoreh Hills or climb 3,000 feet to the summit of Mount Merapi; visit fragrant tea and coffee plantations; travel by horseback to the top of Mount Bromo for sunrise; and visit Kawah Ijen volcano with its pungent smells and mystical views across the eerie sulphuric crater lake.
When it comes to ancient marvels, Java truly excels. The 9th-century Buddhist monument of Borobudur is one of the most evocative sights in all of Asia. This incredible structure was built in three layers and surrounding the main stupa that sits proudly at the top, are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of Buddha. When the early morning sky glows orange and purple, there are few more magical. Just to the west is the impressive 10th-century temple complex of Prambanan, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. With over 500 temples, it is an awe-inspiring sight.
For those who love the outdoors, Java provides the most epic backdrop. Cycle and hike through the rice fields, visit fragrant tea and coffee plantations, and horse rides through the lush rainforests. Our expert local guides will help you discover this majestic island, both its natural beauty and fascinating culture.

A word from one of our experts
My time in Java was the highlight of my trip to Indonesia. Once you get out of its frenetic cities and into the surrounding countryside, you are immersed in a peaceful landscape of rolling hills and rural villages, punctuated by the occasional active volcano! Don’t miss the view of the Buddhist temple of Borobudur at sunrise – an absolutely magical experience.
