Walking with elders: Discovering Kuku Yalanji country
Crafted and led by a member of the community, this tour is one of the most meaningful ways to learn about the history, culture and traditions of First Nations Australian Aboriginal people. Spend a half or full day exploring Kuku Yalanji country, the only place where two World Heritage Sites meet: the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. As you walk, your guide will share stories with you about the country and the native plants and their food and medicinal uses. In addition to sharing the First Nations history, songlines and traditions with visitors, these tours directly support the indigenous community, with a focus on the education of youth, nurturing pride in their heritage and the preservation of culture.
Days 4-6
Three nights on Lizard Island
Enjoy exploring the largely uninhabited and breathtakingly pristine Lizard Island. This beautiful national park is an idyllic escape, where you can swim in crystal clear waters; snorkel and dive with colourful schools of fish; fish off the reef; and relax on the powder soft sand. Your luxury lodge is also the perfect place to simply take it all in, watching the sun set over the ocean with a crisp glass of wine in your hand.

Dive into the city’s rich history at the Darwin Military Museum, which commemorates the area’s role in World War II. Discover the unique flora and fauna of the region at the lush George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, home to over 400 species of native plants. Three nights at Bamurru Plains
Enjoy your days exploring the wilds of Bamurru Plains. The wildlife on show is some of the most impressive in Australia, and expert field guides will help you discover it. Watch hundreds of birds take flight from the lake as you fly by on an airboat, or slowly cruise down the Sampan River keeping an eye out for glimmering fish breaking the surface; there’s no shortage of captivating sights. In the grasslands, creatures of all kinds stir, while the warm, tranquil air invites you to scan the shallows for majestic saltwater crocodiles. Guided walks and drives offer opportunities to encounter free-roaming horses, buffalo, dingoes, and wallabies, or you can opt to spend time in the tower hide, where you’ll delight in spotting the vibrant birdlife that inhabits the area.

Perth, situated on the far western coast of Australia, serves as the capital city of Western Australia. While it may seem distant from other major urban centers, Perth boasts a distinctive blend of relaxed atmosphere and cosmopolitan allure. Renowned as one of the most livable cities globally, it beckons visitors to immerse themselves in its charms. Whether strolling through its vibrant streets, hopping on a ferry to cross the Swan River, or venturing to Rottnest Island to encounter its adorable quokka inhabitants, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy in Perth.
