Itinerary in detail

Every trip is shaped around you. Below is a sample route to start from; we change any part of it to suit you.

Days 1-5

Four nights at Jávri Lodge in Lapland

Spend your time exploring the incredible landscape that surrounds Jávri Lodge, enjoying the peace that comes with being somewhere so remote. Here in Finnish Lapland, winters are cold and dark, and the skies perfect for viewing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis); explore the magnificent nighttime landscape on snowshoes or head out into a wintery forest on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. You will spend some time in a traditional hut, known as a kota, and gather by the open fire to hear stories and enjoy some snacks.

We can also arrange time with a true reindeer herder to hear stories about the animals and learn how to work with them, or you could visit the incredible Lainio Snow Village whose icy structures are built from scratch every year.

Meet Santa

Visit Lapland’s most famous inhabitant – Santa Claus. Sip on hot chocolate in the elves’ hideaway as you bake gingerbread biscuits and make Christmas decorations before meeting the man himself.

Days 6-7

Two nights exploring Helsinki

A city of historic and modern architectural marvels, Helsinki is a visually exciting place. Its position on the Gulf of Finland gives the city a relaxed, maritime feel and an abundance of green space and forests makes it wonderful for those that love the outdoors.

You will discover the highlights of Helsinki on a private tour that takes in the Presidential Palace, the Parliament building and the modern City Hall and Finlandia Hall, as well as Senate Square, surrounded by the Government Palace, the enormous Helsinki Cathedral, and Sederholm House, the oldest stone building in Helsinki.
