Itinerary in detail
Every trip is shaped around you. Below is a sample route to start from; we change any part of it to suit you.
Days 1-4
Welcome to the ‘Venice of the North’
The Netherlands’ capital has long enchanted its visitors. Every street feels like a storybook in Amsterdam. Gable houses line 17th-century canals. Waterways weave together into a shimmering labyrinth and graceful bridges stretch from one cobbled lane to the other.

Days 5-6
Next, Brussels
Brussels may be the political heart of Europe but Belgium‘s capital city beats with creative energy and a history that runs deep. Its art galleries and museums are some of the worlds’ best. Among them are the Magritte Museum and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium.
Throughout the city, you can trace Brussels’ heritage across grand monuments like the Royal Palace. Then eat your way through its culinary specialities: pillowy waffles, hand-cut frites and smooth pralinés.

Where you could stay
Days 7-8
East to the ‘Cathedral City’
More than 2,000 years of history unfolds through the streets of Cologne, making it one of Germany’s oldest cities.
During your stay, base yourself in the centre. You’ll be perfectly positioned to experience the wonders of Cologne. From here, walk across the Hohenzollern Bridge to admire hundreds of love locks. Or stand in awe of the Cologne Cathedral whose filigree twin spires dominate the skyline.
Your evenings end at a Brauhaus (a traditional brewpub) where they day’s stories are shared over crisp, smooth Kölsch.

Day 9
Continue to Basel
Basel is often referred to as Switzerland’s art capital. Join an expert around the city to see how the past and present seamlessly come together. Shift your gaze upward to find the red sandstone spires of the Old Town’s Basel Minster. Nearby, contemporary structures designed by some of the world’s top modern architects perfect bold, sharp lines.

Where you could stay
Tour Basel with an art specialist

Basel’s Old Town is one of the best-preserved in Europe. Admire the Minster’s blend of romanesque and gothic styles, and unlock the inspiration behind the Town Hall’s ornate frescoes. You’ll also search for Basel’s contemporary architecture: the stacked-like, Meret Oppenheim tower or the ring-shaped Novartis Pavillon, whose self-powered exterior fuses science and art.
Days 10-11
Two nights in Zurich
Right on Lake Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city is far more than a financial hub – it’s a cultural powerhouse. As you explore, experience a flourishing art and culinary scene. Enjoy a performance at the neoclassical Opera House, then take your pick between more than 20 Michelin Starred restaurants for fine dining. Afternoons tempt you with shopping sprees along Bahnhofstrasse while lakeside promenades invite gentle strolls where the Swiss Alps hover overhead.
Go beyond Zurich to ride Europe’s first cogwheel mountain railway or witness the roaring torrents of the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen.

Where you could stay
Days 12-13
Slow down at Lake Como
Lake Como’s allure is timeless. Framed by the Rhaetian Alps in northern Italy, it’s been a beloved retreat since the Roman Empire. Today, Lake Como’s shores are a string of pebble beaches, glamorous villas and charming towns.
Your days slip by with pasting-making classes and boat cruises across vivid blue water. Come dusk, there’s no better time for strolls along the waterfront to watch the sky tinge the lake in scarlet and tangerine.
