Explora El Chalten sits enshrouded by mountains overlooking Argentine Patagonia’s Electric Valley and Marconi Glacier. Opening its doors in 2020, this spectacularly situated lodge stays true to Explora’s tried and tested blueprint of placing you at the heart of amazing locations.

The lodge is in the heart of some of Patagonia’s most impressive trekking country, with a multitude of hiking routes at your fingertips. The renowned Los Glaciares Natioanl Park, home to Perito Moreno Glacier, sits just to the south. Explora’s in–house guiding team are on hand to accompany you and make sure you get the most out of each excursion.

There are just 20 rooms – 17 standard and three suites, and this boutique size guarantees the highest standard of guest experience and attention to detail. Each room has sweeping views over the Patagonian forest and cosy wooden interiors, with the overall atmosphere evoking that of a traditional hacienda.

Hotel facilities include a luxury spa with a sauna, forest view treatment rooms, and five open-air jacuzzis where you can recuperate after an invigorating day’s hiking. All meals and beverages are included – savour local beef and lamb roasted over an open fire, washed down with a relaxing glass of wine from the lodge’s carefully selected collection.
