The largest of the Cayes off the north coast of Belize, Ambergris is this country’s – if not Central America’s – most popular island destination.
Its proximity to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef (the world’s second-largest) and the warm Caribbean seas draw many people here for the truly excellent snorkelling, scuba diving and laid-back island life. Protected by the reef, the waters are calm and crystal clear making this a beautiful setting with an abundance of coral and sea life to explore.
