Khwai Leadwood

Explore an exclusive corner of the Okavango Delta at Khwai Leadwood: a small camp set right beside the Moremi Game Reserve in the Khwai Community Concession. Its riverside location invites you to observe an abundance of animals that are drawn to the water during Botswana’s dry season.

The camp includes seven spacious tented suites with private decks, as well as a covered communal lounge, reading area, swimming pool and fire pit. Fill your days here with game drives to spot elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo and both black and white rhinos, which have been successfully reintroduced to Moremi.

For a more intimate and lower-impact African safari, you can also explore on foot or in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). Although these experiences are limited to guests aged 16 and up, the rest of the camp is well-suited to younger travellers and family safaris. It’s also a fantastic honeymoon destination.

Round out your journey through the delta with a visit to nearby Chief’s Island or the Mombo Concession. You can also head north to Chobe National Park and Linyanti, or south to the Makgadikgadi Pans and the Central Kalahari.
