Itinerary in detail

Every trip is shaped around you. Below is a sample route to start from; we change any part of it to suit you.

Days 1-4

Welcome to Cape Town

One of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town will take your breath away. Dominated by Table Mountain and boasting the laid-back bustle of the city’s waterfront and its sandy beaches, Cape Town and its pretty suburbs have an immensely calming effect on visitors. The oldest city in South Africa is full of beautiful buildings from its complex Colonial past, and your stay will be packed with cultural and historical highlights, not to mention fabulous hotels, and reservations at the best restaurants.

From here, you head towards Cape Point Nature Reserve and pass the Cape of Good Hope.

Days 5-6

Into the Winelands

Just a short drive from Cape Town one enters the verdant, rolling hills of South Africa’s Winelands. This is a fascinating historic area of South Africa, where many of the first Dutch settlers first made their homes. Pretty towns and villages adorn the countryside, their whitewashed Dutch Colonial buildings contrasting against the lush greens of vineyards, fields and forests. South Africa’s wine country also has some of the country’s best restaurants.

Days 7-9

Safari in Sabi Sands

Enjoy three days exploring the world-famous Sabi Sands Nature Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Widely regarded as Africa’s premier game reserve, the Sabi Sands is world renowned for the abundance of game (particularly leopard), and is the best place to see all of the ‘Big Five’ in South Africa. As well as incredible wildlife viewing, Sabi Sands private reserve is home to a collection of the most luxurious safari lodges in Africa. You can be assured of a romantic, sumptuous stay.

Days 10-13

Beautiful Bazaruto Archipelago

Set just off the Southern shores of Mozambique in the warm Indian ocean, the Bazaruto Archipelago is a protected marine national park with just a handful of luxury lodges on the islands. Crystal clear waters lap at white sand beaches, with just a few other guests and the local fisherman adding to the backdrop. It’s a wonderful place to relax and unwind, far away from the stresses of civilisation. One of the highlights here is the diving and snorkelling, with the world famous ‘Three Mile Reef’ close by.

Seahorse and seagrass safari

Seahorse and seagrass safari

Board a traditional wooden dhow, gliding across the turquoise waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago toward the seagrass meadows of the Mangalisse community. You’ll slip into the shallows with provided snorkeling gear and be guided through the calm waters to spot seahorses without disturbing their delicate environment.

What makes the experience truly special, is the fact that it was born from a 2018 conservation initiative that turned local poaching into active protection. Roughly 80% of your safari fee goes directly back to the local community to fund schools, infrastructure and resource management. Your journey concludes with a traditional home-cooked Mozambican meal – featuring staples like rich Matapa and fresh seafood.
